Publisher's description - RoseLine WA Peak Finder and GPS Mapper 1.14
Hey, what mountain is that? Hikers, climbers, skiers, backpackers, travelers can quickly create interactive Google based maps that show all the peaks visible from any location in Washington. The program quickly calculates a list of visible peaks including those in neighboring states and Canada. Use it to identify geographic features in a photo. Investigate the peaks visible from a location from the comfort of home or make maps to take with you. Filter just the peaks of interest by distance, direction and/or prominence. Displays results statistics: names, distance, heading, vertical prominence in sortable lists. The program database contains more than 10,000 named peaks, ridges, cliffs, pinnacles and hills. The program is also available for Washington and soon for other states as well.
The Google base maps can navigate, zoom and be cropped suitable for printing. The visible peaks are displayed as a starburst of rays each indicating a peak. When you hover the mouse over a ray it displays the peak name and statistics.
The full featured version of the program also supports output to National Geograph Topo! (TPO) and any other GPS mapping software (via GPX files). The google maps can be posted to the web or emailed. This version lets you create custom targets and can determine if any two points are visible from each other.
